A trip to Masonboro island is a unique day at the beach coupled with great sightseeing and exploration. With a beautiful uncrowded 8.4 mile long beach, you can find plenty of space to yourself. You can also find great shells, beach glass, and even sharks teeth. Behind the beach you will find pristine marsh and tidal flats that serve as an important nursery area for many sea birds and fish such as mullet, bluefish, pompano, summer flounder, and red drum to name just a few.
On our Masonboro Island trip, Capt. Jaime will take you from Wrightsville beach over to Masonboro island via Banks Channel behind Wrightsville beach. A sunshade and beach chairs with backpack straps, for walking across the island, come supplied with the tour if you want them, or bring your own if you prefer. Capt. Jaime will drop you off at one of the trails that lead to the beach and hang around in the area behind the island on the boat while you explore and enjoy the day.
These trips can be highly customized as well depending on what you want to do. We can spend more time sightseeing on the boat and checking out the area or you can go straight to the island. Or if your interested in relaxing on one of the sound side beaches and swimming in calmer waters, we know some great spots for that too. The best thing to do is talk to Capt. Jaime and he can make great recommendations for your day based on tides, the weather, and your interests.
